Uyuni Three day Salt Flat and coloured mountains tour.
This is a medium level tour. A little off road experience would help but not essential.
We offer you the most memorable adventure, riding the largest dry salt lake in the world. Combine this with coloured mountains, lagoons with pink flamingos and natural hot springs to bath in and you will have yourself a magical time.
DAY 1
The best way to experience the largest dry salt lake in the world is on a motorcycle. Come and have a fun day with us riding in this magical place. The endless open white expanse with a perfect deep blue sky make this a very memorable day.
The day starts with you arriving at our Uyuni office at 9.30 a.m. After a briefing we will kit you out with all your riding gear and get you comfortable with your bike.
The Train Cemetery is our first destination, just 3km out of town. Full of old steam trains, this makes a good photo spot.
20 km further, on the new ash felt road we arrive at the main entrance to the salt
flats. This is a small town called Colchani .
Famous for mining and processing Salt. Here we can buy artifacts if you wish.
Next we are riding on the salt flat to Playa Blanca, the flags and Dakar monument.
After some more photos we cross the Salar riding to the Cactus island in the center, called Incahuasi
A great spot to take lunch, quinoa soup and the best llama steak. Then a tour of
this volcanic island before heading back across the Salar. On the way back we
will stop and takes some silly photos.
We arrive back the office about 5 p.m. giving you plenty of time to recover from this exciting day.

DAY 2
The mountain route
Today we will ride 225 km, 80 kilometres of road and 145 on tarmac. If you have no off road experience, today’s riding is a great way for you to learn.
We will head out on the twisty roads up into the mountains at over 4000 metres altitude. After 45 km we turn off the road this is where the dirt road riding begins; we ride up through the coloured mountains to Tollapampa, past some lagoon toth hot springs in Villa Concepcion. Here the water bubbles out the ground at 35 degrees. We can take a dip and eat our pack lunch.
After we ride to the town of Tomave, continuing back to the tarmac and 60 km to Uyuni where we will spend the night in a hostel.
Day 3
The dakar rally route
Today is another 200 km ride, 120 km on tarmac and 80km of road.The route takes in some beautiful scenery with lagoons and flamingos. We will be riding the 2016 route used by the dakar rally. We will be riding mud, loose sand and gravel roads with an altitude of over 4000 metres. Arriving back at Uyuni at approximately at 5 p.m. where the tour concludes..
